Abstract
The celebration, above all, the jubilee is enriched with the fact that the celebration coincides with the celebration of the European Year of Disabled People 2003. Let this professional conference be our contribution to the Year of Disabled People. In solving the problems of the people with disabilities, it was and it has been very essential the need of training appropriate special teachers staff. The idea, supported by a number of activities, attempts and self-sacrificing of some individuals and certain social and organizations of disabled people, to establish and to start work with the studies of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, five decades after the liberation war, is a special historical event and the future researchers will evaluate its meaning, needs and effects.
